Supergirl Season 5 was cut down to 19 episodes instead of 20. The Season 5 finale has since been rewritten, while the unaired episodes will be wrapped into the start of Season 6.

When the Arrowverse shows return in Jan. 2021, #Supergirl won't be among them. The CW's midseason is expected to launch sometime between April and June 2021. The delay is also meant to accommodate Melissa Benoist's pregnancy, as the additional time includes her maternity leave
